Living Labs Europe

Living Lab Sant Cugat enjoys a high proportion of well-educated families and early technology dopters. The living labs hosts several advanced companies conducting R&D on mobility solutions, and is characterised by a high percentage of commuters and families.

A very high interest has been shown in mobile solutions from private businesses as well as public authorities, but there is no local cluster building or incubator focusing solely on developing mobile and wireless solutions. Rather the inhabitants at large may be seen as a “user-driven cluster”.

The city administration has, since long, expressed their commitment to mobile services for "their" citizens. This is reflected in the local stratgies for promoting mobile & wireless services as well as openness to public-private partnerships and interest in benchmarking with other clusters.
