The mobile clusters in Copenhagen is part of the Copenhagen region with a population of more than 1,850,000.The city is located in the centre of the Øresund region. With roughly nine million people living and working  within a 300 km radius from Copenhagen.the city has been ranked second after London in the ability to attract foreign corporate headquarters.

The city, with the surrounding region, is developing into a Scandinavian hub for ICT, pharmaceutical and biotech companies. Penetration rates for mobile phones are high (90%) and mobile awareness is good; mobile services are today well advertised and mobile commerce is relatively common.

GPRS and 3G phones offer MMS services that are available for paying for parking and cinema tickets, for checking bank-accounts and ordering flowers etc. Almost all of the most well known mobile service providers offer mCommerce solutions. The local cluster building is well organised in Copenhagen.

Among the most well known actors are the Technical University of Denmark and the IT University. Several incubators add top the innovative climate in the region, including Symbion Science Park, focusing on start-ups, and the Danish Science Park at Hoersholm, which is in fact one of the biggest science parks in Europe.

Many of the large ICT companies and telecom operators are represented in Copenhagen. The city is involved in developing a new mobile infrastructure, opening up for much cheaper connection to the Internet via the mobile phone.
