Living Labs Europe

Living Labs Catalunya Catalunya is well-placed at the heart of the Mediterranean Region with easy access to more than 100 million European citizens, it could also be seen as the counterpart to the Baltic Sea Region covering 100 million citizens, and forming the world’s leading cluster of mobility.

Bridge-building between these two important European players can provide significant opportunities for both sides in leading the mobile revolution. The pioneering mobile products, projects and other advanced initiatives, call attention to Catalunya’s potential role as one of southern Europe’s hottest piloting grounds for mobile applications.

Already today, these mobile technology applications cover a wide range of advanced services such as new e-government applications, mobile services for citizens, mobile voting and opinion polls, interactive television, and localised services to ‘intelligent garments’. The mobile services are typically developed through locally available competencies which are already well-connected to the demands of the global marketplace.

Living Labs Catalunya is in the first phase towards establishing a region as a new leader in sectoral innovation by emphasising the unique regional profile combining the synergies of culture, history, industry, and unique local competences to improve and expand international competitiveness and attract international resources.
